Black and Tan Studios began in 2005. Several writers, who were having trouble finishing projects they had started, engaged a Composer/Musician to act as a production manager. The result has been; a Screenplay, four Theatrical Works, a Television Series, a Video Documentary and an Original Music CD.  There are many works in progress as well and fringe projects are working their way into the center.

The reason we chose the name Black & Tan had everything to do with the Moulin Rouge in Las Vegas, the focus of our first theatrical project..  In the 1950’s, Nightclubs where Black & White people hung out together were called “Black and Tan” clubs.  We thought the name appropriate because of our racial diversity and it stuck.

Mission: We hold the proposition that things, more often, are not what they seem. This exhilarating information inspires us to respond by facilitating dialog along disparate epistemological pathways. Our hope is that we can utilize this conversation, especially those parts pertaining to; history art and science, to invigorate what remains of culture
